On todays run were Me (GeeDee) David (Dodgy) and Joe (JoeD)
After a bit of discussion we decided to have a look at the hill climb on
the Nick 'o Pendle and give Gethin a bit of a shout, we decided against
Hebden Bridge as the weather forecast was for rain hitting these parts
by dinner time - it actually came at 3.30pm so we could have done it.
Any way David had a bit of a cold and me and Joe thought it was a bit
too much,
so it was Longridge, Ribchester, Whalley and Sabden we had a nice
tailwind out and got to the start to see Number 15 about to start, we
rode part way up to the cattle grid and met Paul Fleming, Gethin was
next to last man Number 30 and he was moving nicely as he came up.
We rode to the top of the Nick and didn't want to hang around in the
wind so we made for Waddington for our elevenses or is that eleven
thirties - no gourmet meals this time only tea and toasted teacake.
We set off part way up Waddington Fell although I'll bet we could had
gone all the way, turned off the lane to come out at Bashall Eaves and
back thro' Chipping, Longridge to start Davids Magical Mystery tour of
Inglewhite.
In and around all the lanes around Inglewhite some never seen by motor
cars or bikes before I'm sure, out at Inglewhite to Bilsborrow and back
along the A6 to Broughton.
55 miles for me, 60 ish for David and Joe, so I reckon if we'd have gone
to Hebden Bridge we'd have probably been somewhere around Todmorden with
a headwind home and sore legs.
