NOVEMBER 26th 2006 |

Thanks to Geoff (our new club president)
for writing this weeks report.
About 16 of us set off for Gargrave in cloudy and damp
conditions, Wheelers riders where Gethin, Matt H, Matt S, David L, Paul F
(part of the way) and myself GeeDee, the rest where made of riders from
Preston CC, SIS, Felt Racing team (Greg) plus a couple of other lads.
So it was down to Ribchester, Whalley, Sabden via the back road which
misses Black Hill, Gethin's choice
Then thro' the narrow lanes out to Barrowford, Colne, Barnoldswick and
eventually to the Dalesman Cafe at Gargrave, the pace was brisk in the
tailwind but very dirty for us at the back mainly me and Matt H.
Paul turned for home as we crossed the A59 half way between Skipton and
Gisburn.
We all enjoyed our lunch at the Dalesman which is opposite the Dave Raynor
memorial stone at the side of the river, we where lucky in the cafe as my
previous visits have seen it full of Yorkshire riders and bikes about 6
deep outside.
We all wondered what was to come on the way home into the wind, but it
wasn't that bad, it was back through the lanes in a round about way to
Hellifield, Bolton By Bowland, by now the sun was coming out
Unfortunately Matt H punctured and once again Gethin to the rescue,
changed in about 2 mins flat.
Matt and my-self constantly off the back on the short climbs and the
elastic finally broke up Chaigley where Dave Brooks caught us up, back
together at the Chipping turn off so I rode with Matt right back to
Inglewhite.The rest went thro' Longridge.
and eventually home safely - I hope
I had about 83 miles on my computer probably more for some.
Thanks everyone for your company - on the flat.
