On the ride today was myself (Eddie Stobart - Matt
Hoyles), Rick Holmes, Jose
Pinon Shaw, Matt Stell, Gethin Butler, Dave Littlefair. Today we were all
riding out to the Annual NLTTA dinner which is held at the Priory at Scorton.
We set in the direction of Longridge taking in the climb of Jeffrey Hill to
which some of us had a few choice words to say!! From here we dropped into
the Trough and from here in the going was all upwards. After descending the
Trough we took in Jubilee Tower where we stopped to do a minute silence in
memory of those lost at war etc. From here we did the legendary big ring
effort across Quermorre and towards Scorton. By this stage Dodgy had already
started to find his sprinting legs and after tightening his shoes he went
for the Scorton Sign. With arms aloft it was clear to see that he was
enjoying his vicotry. At this point some people went into the Priory for the
dinner whilst Me, Stelly and also Rick went across to the Barn Cafe for a
lovely dinner.
After leaving the cafe us 3 decided that we would get some
more miles in due to the weather finally deciding to dry out!! We headed out
through Nateby before winding through the lanes to Hambleton and Singleton.
We then all decided that we would ride back towards Kirkham and ride past
Ricks house as normally he has the furthest to get to the Withys in the
morning!! Me and Stelly then rode through the lanes back to Bartle Hall were
we split up and went our separate ways back home.
Yet again we all had a brilliant ride. It was a shame
about the early weather but i can certainly say this is turning out to be a
brilliant winter for riding etc. I am loving the company and the rides etc.
I cant wait until next weekend now ;-)
