This was to be my first Preston Wheelers Christmas lunch so I was unsure about what we were going to be doing etc. All I knew was that we were to ride out for our lunch in Chipping before riding home. Well what can I say. Today was excellent. From the ride to the meal everything was great. After riding to Chipping over the Trough we made our way into the pub. Here many of the riders decided that pints were in order to refill on the liquids that we had lost on the run in to Chipping!! We found ourself a nice little spot in the pub where we waited for the other members to arrive. Some of these had been in the other group and had taken a slightly slower pace to the lunch. Others had found their own way there either in the car or or on a bike. We sat talking and laughing for ages before Jose and Myself decided that it was time to make a move over to the Cafe for our lunch. We were all escorted upstairs to a brilliant little room which had been decorated for Christmas. The tables had been set out with crackers and hats for everyone. The atmosphere was brilliant and when the meal came we were all very impressed. A full Christmas lunch was had by many. Halfway through the meal you could see people beginning to wonder how they were going to get themselves home after eating to much!! There was a certain Gethin Butler who had drunk what he says was 1 and a half pints who was starting to get a bit giddy. Luckily for us all the coffees were served to sober him up!! After the meal we made our way back over to the pub to collect our bikes before setting off back home. Can I say a big thank you to Roy Freeman who organised this great event and it would not be possible without him. Can I also thank everyone at the Cobbled Corner Cafe in Chipping for a great meal. The company and the atmosphere was brilliant today so thanks to everyone that came along. I look forward to seeing you all again next year for another brilliant Wheelers bash. Have a look at the pictures from this event in the GALLERY. Also read about the ride out to Chipping and find out who is the sweetest of them all (Jose) in the CLUB RUN REPORT
